Today’s Readings

First Reading

2 Samuel 7:1-5. 8-12. 14. 16

God promises to give David not a physical house but a great name and a dynasty.

Second Reading

Romans 16:25-27

St Paul tells us that Jesus Christ is the revelation of a mystery that has been kept secret for endless ages.

Gospel

Mary is asked to trust the God who makes great promises and who now wants to fulfil them through her.

 

Advent 2011 New Mass Books

In the new copies of the Parish Mass Book, you will find The Order of Mass starting on page 7 and the proper of the Mass for today on page 87.

Parish Collection

Collection last Sunday amounted to £102.43  Thank you once again!

Christmas Masses

Christmas Day is a Sunday this year. We will have our normal Sunday Masses – 10am in Rosneath, 12.15 in Arrochar – and the early mid-night Mass on Saturday 24th (Christmas Eve) at 9pm in Rosneath.

Christmas Quarterly

The Christmas Quarterly collection goes to the Archdiocesan Fund for educating priests for the Archdiocese.  The second collection today will be for this fund.  Those with envelopes are asked to put them into this collection today

St. Modan's Christmas Carol Service

Next Sunday at 7.30pm in St Modan’s Church there will be a Charity Carol Service.  The Charity supported is the Princes Trust for Carers.

Carols for Peace

Will take place in Glasgow City Chambers at 3pm next Sunday. The Lord Provost and representatives from various Church will join the Salvation Army and St Mungo Singers with other musicians. Refreshments afterwards and all are welcome.

International Eucharistic Congress 2012

The Fiftieth IEC is taking place in Dublin next year from the 10th to 17th June.  Information on the National Pilgrimages is on the notice board.

The Martyrdom of Saint John Ogilvie

A new play by Stephen Callaghan for Lentfest 2012.  Auditions take place at 7.30pm 15 December in St Michael’s Church Hall, Parkhead.
